Dresscode Lab
Practical outfit composition tools
Evidence-based, not vibes-based

Stop guessing if your outfit works. Measure it.

Most outfit advice online is recycled generic tips. Dresscode Lab runs the math on color theory, personal color seasons, and body proportions — so you get specific feedback tied to your choices, not "just wear what feels right."

Three tools

Pick the question you're trying to answer.

Each tool does one thing, and tries to do it more carefully than the dozen generic results you'd find on Google.

Outfit Composition Analyzer

Tell it what you're wearing (each piece, each color, each formality level). It scores color harmony using HSL math, checks formality consistency, and tells you whether the look actually fits the occasion.

  • Real color-wheel math, not opinions
  • Detects formality mismatches you may not see
  • Suggests concrete fixes (not vague "add a belt")

Personal Color Season Finder

A 12-season color analysis (Light Spring → Deep Winter) using a self-diagnostic questionnaire. No photo upload — your answers drive the recommendation. Outputs a curated palette of ~20 hex codes that should flatter your undertone.

  • 12 subtypes, not 4 vague seasons
  • No biometric data leaves your browser
  • Lists colors to actively avoid

Body Proportion Stylist

Enter five real measurements (shoulder, bust, waist, hip, inseam). It calculates body shape from ratios, then recommends specific hem lengths, necklines, and silhouettes — based on your actual numbers, not your label.

  • Spits out numbers (ideal midi length in cm)
  • Visualizes where to add visual weight
  • Supports metric and imperial

Why this isn't a generic listicle

"Wear what makes you feel confident" isn't a tool. This is.

Most styling content online gives the same five tips in different fonts. The few that try to be "tools" are actually quizzes with predetermined results.

Dresscode Lab runs actual computation on your inputs. The outfit analyzer converts each color to HSL and tests hue relationships. The color season tool scores three independent dimensions (warmth, value, chroma) and maps them to one of twelve scientifically-defined seasons. The body proportion tool uses your measurements to derive ratios, then turns those ratios into specific clothing recommendations.

It's not going to replace a stylist — but it will tell you things like "your top is a cool color, your bottom is a warm color, they're 180° apart on the color wheel, this is why it looks off" instead of "try a different vibe."

Quantified

Every score is derived from inputs, not assigned by feel.

Private

Calculations run in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Honest

Each tool lists its own limitations on the same page.

Specific

Outputs are numbers and named colors, not generic advice.

About

Who built this, and why

Dresscode Lab is an independent side project by a small team that got tired of clicking on "outfit tools" that turned out to be quizzes. We wanted something that would actually evaluate what we picked, not what season we are in a horoscope-style personality chart.

The tools here are best understood as decision-support — not authority. If your job is presenting to a Fortune 500 board, please don't replace your tailor's eye with a web form.

FAQ

Things people ask before they bother trying

Is this an AI outfit generator?

No. There's no generative model here. Every result is computed from your specific inputs using deterministic rules (HSL math, ratio formulas, weighted scoring). Same inputs → same outputs, every time, for everyone.

Why three separate tools instead of one big one?

Because they answer different questions. "Does this specific outfit work?" is not the same as "What colors should I generally buy?" is not the same as "What skirt length flatters my frame?" Bundling them into one wizard would hide which rule fired and why.

Will my data be sold or used to train a model?

No. The tools run entirely in your browser. We do not have a server that receives your color choices, body measurements, or questionnaire answers. There is nothing to sell.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Layouts are designed mobile-first and were tested on viewports down to 360 px wide. Color pickers, sliders, and result visualizations all adapt.

Is the body proportion tool a substitute for a tailor's fit?

No. It recommends hem lengths and necklines based on classical proportion rules. It cannot tell you how a specific fabric drapes on your body, whether a garment's shoulders are constructed for your shape, or what feels comfortable to move in. Use it as a starting point.
